A visit to UNESCO heritage site Ait Benhaddou

We recently returned from a buying trip, this time to the ancient walled city of Ait Benhaddou. Located in the province of Ouarzazate on the historical trade route between Marrakech and the Sahara, the fortified town is distinguished by its large Kasbah forts and numerous clay palaces and homes which embody typical Moroccan architecture. While the town is largely uninhabited now several local families continue to live within the confines of the old city, which is recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. In an effort to create brand transparency and build our global network we will update this blog from time to time in order to keep you updated on the inner workings of Dar Sol. After traveling to Morocco for many years and becoming entranced by its unique charm we recently returned from our buying trip to establish the brand.
